Amethyst cape Ship on the Tersky coast of the White Sea, the main attraction of which is the Chayachsky rock, as well as a stone river in the middle of the northern forest and the industrial amethyst deposit abandoned in 1992, now having the status of a state geological natural monument. The amethyst deposit at this place has been known and used by the Pomors since the 16th century. Of course, now there are no any amethysts here, but if you seriously engage in searches, with a certain amount of luck you can see, right under your feet, stones with red-violet interspersed with quartz. However, on the territory of Cape Ship, any gathering of amethysts is forbidden, as well as the arrangement of recreational facilities and any actions leading to the pollution of a natural monument, but the matter is limited to a warning poster only. The cape is located about halfway between the villages of Kashkarantsy and Varzuga.
