A stunningly beautiful and ancient temple. When I visited him, the temple needed restoration. It is a pity that works of such historical significance are in a deplorable state. Now it seems that work is underway. The first floor is a functioning church, I advise you to visit a very interesting one

I love Moscow Gold-domed, it reverently keeps the history of the capital city and the Russian people. The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos is a wonderful architectural monument of the Naryshkin style of the early Moscow baroque. A wonderful place in which there is a breath of antiquity and the holiness of Russia. The airy carved power, directed into the sky, fascinates - the temple attracts the eye, it is impossible to pass by, in my opinion. In the summertime, there is an opportunity to climb the ancient steps to the upper church of the Savior Not Made by Hands, admire the panoramic view, imagine what our ancestors could see from this height at the end of the 17th century, frozen spellbound by thoughts of height and stature. It’s a pity, we didn’t manage to get into the premises of the upper church this time, I think it will happen in one of the next visits. In the lower temple you can see an oak throne - one of the oldest surviving thrones. Unfortunately, the original wall paintings and most of the icons have not survived; the interior decoration of the lower church dates back to the 19th century. From the original preserved: the temple icon "Protection of the Virgin", the icon "Three joys". According to legend, Peter I visited this temple more than once - he cherished the opportunity to visit this place. I want to come back here, I want to learn the history of the life of the temple and the people involved in it.

Amazing place. A must visit. There are lower and upper temples. Antique icons. Very nice interior.
