Igreja S. Simeão Stylits

The church of Simeon Stolpnik on Povarskaya, which conquers all the guests of the New Arbat with its beauty, will soon celebrate its four hundredth anniversary. But the temple miraculously survived in the 60s of the last century, when actually Kalininsky Prospect, the present New Arbat, was created. We see, of course, not the temple that is associated with the name of Boris Godunov. Most likely, the church of Simeon Stolpnik acquired its final form in 1818, when it was restored after the "Napoleonic" fire.
