Khram-Chasovnya Svyatitelya Vasiliya Velikogo

A small temple is located near pavilion 32/34 on the territory of VDNKh. In 1999, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of VDNKh, the VDNKh leadership decided to build a chapel. The construction was funded by donations from staff and guests and was completed in 2001. The chapel bears the name of St. Basil the Great of the 4th century AD. e., who was "a scientist in the twelve sciences." After 10 years, it was decided to attach the altar part. Alas, they did not get inside, it was closed.

The temple-chapel on the territory of the Michurinsky nursery (Syringaria) was built back in 2001, and in 2011 it had already been reconstructed and replenished with an altar. By the way, Saint Basil is not only a church writer and theologian of the 4th century, but also a scientist and inventor. So it is no coincidence that the chapel at VDNKh bears his name, because the exhibition is designed to demonstrate the achievements of science and industry.

One of the few beautiful temples at VDNKh. Closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

You need to go there in the spring - the chapel is located next to the Michurinsky Garden, in the territory of Syringaria, and when everything blooms, especially lilacs, the view becomes simply marvelous.
