I tried to enter several times on weekends, but the temple and its territory were closed.

The existing church was built in 1653, in the entire western part of the building was rebuilt 1670-1680-ies. As a result of these works was built belfry, refectory has almost doubled to include the new and Nikolsky chapel. possibly using more walls of an ancient temple. Belfry was again severe floods in 1786. Instead it in 1806 at the expense of existing was built detached three-tiered bell tower in the style of classicism. Under Soviet rule, the church was open until 1935. In the years 1958-1962 was carried out the restoration of the church. In 1992, in the church of St. George the Great Martyr established farmstead Spaso-Preobrazhensky Solovetsky monastery.

A beautiful extraordinary Temple!

In the evening, on a typical weekday, we went to a church shop to buy a pie with tea. We went behind the bench, sat on a bench near the church itself, to relax and taste the purchased. I note right away that there was no rubbish or noise from the two of us. A man of pre-retirement age, a security guard, came out from a neighboring house, approached us and began to drive away, they say, you can’t sit here. To our logical question "why then is the shop here and who can sit on it", the answer was "holy fathers", but we, ordinary people, can’t. Here is such discrimination and social division from people who work for the church. Jesus would not approve of this. I enclose a photo with a bench on which ordinary mortals can’t sit)
