The exact date of construction of this parish church is unknown, but there is evidence that it appeared in the middle of the XVI century on the site of an earlier wooden predecessor. It was rebuilt and renovated many times, including during the Soviet era - during the construction of the Rossiya Hotel. And the last restoration is again associated with that unlucky hotel - in 2017, when the Zaryadye park was broken.

the church was first mentioned in chronicles in 1493. During a fire in 1547 damaged the temple, then vosstanavlivalsya.Yuzhny aisle of the church erected in the first quarter of the XVII century, the northern aisle of the church built in the years 1658-1668 .In 1658-1668 years was built around the church gallery. Restructuring of the church took place in 1752 (in the XIX century - was changed to the completion of the temple and the bell tower was built in 1954-1957 the church was restored .During restoration was demolished bell tower, built in the middle of the XIX century, renovated decor and original cover..
