Dom Aksakovykh

This is not a public museum. It houses a number of museum funds of the Museum of the History of Russian Literature. V. Dahl. This is the place for professionals.

The building in the Empire style built in 1822. The mansion consists of two floors with a six-column portico. In the summer of 1929, Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov, a Russian writer, government official and public figure, literary and theater critic, memoirist, author of books on fishing and hunting, and lepidopterologist, rented a house. Together with his family he lived in the house until 1833. In the summer of 1832 here, accompanied by the historian MP Pogodin came Nikolai Gogol, then a young writer who had just released “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka”. April 1, 1984 Aksakov House Museum was opened here.
