After the death of P.L. It was decided to make the Kapitsa part of the cottage a museum, and to place the laboratory of M.S. in the remaining rooms Haikina. To do this, it was necessary to partially re-plan part of the rooms. A memorial museum was created on the second floor of the house. Saved the office of the scientist; the former library contains instruments and fragments of scientific installations with which Kapitsa worked for more than half a century; the machines on which he liked to work with his own hands, as well as a large manuscript and photo archive, are preserved. The museum has preserved materials on cultural life at the Institute and on the public activities of the academician.
