The church is located near the village of Afineevo, which is historically interesting in itself. The Church of St. John the Baptist was built from 1704 to 1709. In 1779, the owner and serf owner Zakhar Volynsky acquired the village. The number of purchased souls is not in the public domain. He rebuilt part of the chapters, replaced the chapters at the temple, and on his orders the church was covered with sheets of tin. In 1783 it was reconstructed under pseudo-Gothic.
