Church of San Sergio refectory During the uprising of the Strelzi (military units of the Russian Empire that formed the Tsar's Royal Guard in the Moscow Kremlin) Peter the Great and his half-brother Ivan V found refuge in the Monastery of San Sergio and in 1686, out of gratitude to the monks who they had welcomed, they offered the money necessary for the construction of a refectory inside the monastic complex. The external walls of the building are divided into a series of panels bearing scalloped shells on top. The columns dividing the panels are decorated with vine leaves and the panels are painted with triangles of four different colors that simulate a three-dimensional facet. This motif recalls in the external decoration the Palazzo dei Diamanti of the Moscow Kremlin and the Palazzo dei Diamanti of Ferrara. At the end of the Refectory is the church of San Sergio, whose iconostasis was transferred there in 1688 from the church of San Nicola in Moscow. The delicate fretwork work of the iconostasis looks like metal, but in reality it is wood.

The two-story building of the "royal palace", built at the end of the XVII century. in the northern part of the monastery - one of the best works of Moscow baroque. It was intended to accommodate the royal family in those periods when the king stayed at the Trinity-Sergius Monastery. In 1814, the building was transferred to the Moscow Theological Academy. The rooms were partially redeveloped; instead of external stairs leading to the second floor, there were internal strongholds. In the eastern part of the building at the end of the XIX century. The house of the Intercession Church was arranged. Externally, the location of the church is marked by a large faceted head on an octagonal light drum. The decoration of the building facades was largely restored during the restoration work that began in the late 1940s.

Shocked by the beauty and richness of the collected collection. Thanks to the good bus, thanks to which I learned about the existence of the Church Hermitage. It is a pity that the hour-long excursion does not provide an opportunity to fully get acquainted with the exhibits. I would like to visit there again.

The Moscow Spiritual Academy is a church university on the site of the Trinity Monastery of Sergiyev Posad in the northeastern Moscow Oblast. The Moscow Spiritual Academy was founded in 1687 at the instigation of the Lichud brothers (Sophronius Lichud and Joanniki Lichud) as a Slavic-Greek-Latin school after Tsar Fyodor III. signed the founding decree in 1686. The school was the first higher education institution in Moscow.

An excellent museum, the tour lasts 1 hour, very interesting, dynamic. This is a collection of icons, paintings, furniture, models of architectural monuments, carpets and other things. All this remains from Patriarch Alexy Simansky. I highly recommend visiting. The price for such an interesting visit to the museum is 100 rubles. Since the 70s, the exposition has been accessible only to clergy. A couple of years ago, the CAC became available to everyone.
