Another great place on the list of abandoned abandoned places I have visited is the place of walking excavators and colorful dunes. Reclaimed phosphorite quarries are beautiful objects created in cooperation between man and nature on the vast territory of the Lopatinsky mine. It is a unique and largest phosphorite deposit in Europe. 1800-ton Takraf ERs 710 and red sand, the place where one life ends and a new one is born under the blue July sky.

Lopatinsky quarry and a giant iron monster with him: Takraf ERs 710, a walking excavator or absetzer, the only one in walking distance from Moscow. In August 1932, industrial production began at the Yegoryevsky phosphorite deposit, various types of bucket excavators were used: some moved on rails, others walked with an “added” step. As a result of the work of excavators incredible landscapes were created - the trenches of quarries are mixed with sand ridges and fields sown with pine trees. After ore mining at the quarry, sand was mined until 2018. Now the mine is abandoned, the rails of the railway are demolished, and many quarries and man-made depressions are flooded. I am afraid soon and the absorber will be dismantled for scrap. The coordinates of the barrier for the navigator 55.27772 38.813424, pay a small bribe to the gatekeeper and then walk left, along the only road, about two kilometers ...

The place is semi-abandoned. But partially still functioning. In fact, we went to the pond to swim, and drove past the mine. Saw him from the side. Locals say that in Soviet times it was a big organization, not like it is now. It is hard to believe, since the area is huge and partially overgrown with weeds.
