Kerzhenskiy Gosudarstvennyy Prirodnyy Zapovednik

The Kerzhensky Reserve is located in the Borsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. For the last 5 years, they have been breeding the population of forest reindeer, which is depicted on the coat of arms of Nizhny Novgorod, but was completely exterminated from wildlife. Now, slowly but surely, the number of forest reindeer is growing every year. Thanks to the project manager (and the pioneer in this case) Sergey Gennadievich Surov. In the Ecocenter of the Reserve, you can look at the deer with binoculars, there is also a museum there, and you will take a tour of the museum and the nature trail. You can take pictures at the stands on the site in front of the eco-center, children can put together an interesting puzzle with animals, and lastly, you can buy reserved souvenirs (mugs, magnets, bookmarks, teas from reserved herbs). Families with children often come to the Ecocenter, children are very interested here. There is a children's camp in the summer.

A wonderful natural place for family holidays. We arrived for a couple of days, rented a 3-room guest house. The house is freshly renovated, clean, comfortable, warm. The only thing that is not particularly pleased, is the technical (brown) water from the tap and the smell is marshy, you wash your hands, and from them the smell is appropriate. They explained that the swamp is near. And everything else is fine. We were flooded with a bathhouse, mangal to whom we need, birds and cats around are hand-held, the birds are straight in their arms. A cat is hyperlasked and talkative, constantly something purrs and in general all animals here are so well-fed. Here they have close contact with people and it pleases. We went skiing on the forest trails, we enjoyed ourselves. Around the tracks of different animals, so interesting! I highly recommend here to visit.

Kerzhensky Reserve is famous for its rare animals and plants. Bridges have been laid in the reserve, along which you can walk with a guided tour. There are also stands that explain where you are and what animals live in this area.

Great place for rafting. Even mosquitoes are not outrageous.
