Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Missile Troops, Signal Corps and Combat Engineers in the Crownwork of Saints Peter and Paul Fortress has three hundred years of its history and this is one of the best military museums in the world. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light. It will takes from four and up to eight hours to see all exhibitions.

A great place for the family. The courtyard is filled with Russian military vehicles spanning a few decades that you can see from behind a low-hanging chain fence. The interior offers a comprehensive history of the wars Russia has been involved with since its empire building days to more recent times. There are some cool Socialist realism murals on the walls on the inside too. There is also an exhibit on Kalashnikov.

Really interesting place to everyone who likes weapons and arms from different centuries and countries, gun collectors etc. Kids will love possibility to climb on old cannons in front of the museum and look on pistols, rifles and other weapons from ancient times to modern. The real must to visit is Kalashnikov exhibition on the 3rd floor. There you can see all weapons this world famous Russian gunsmith created during his career. They also have rather interesting exhibition about Winter War with Finnish weapons, photos and other stuff used by Finns and Soviets during that war.
