It was fine. There was a lot of material in the museum which didn’t correspond very well to the author himself. On top if this, you do need a guide or some Russian friends to help you understand the gist of the museum. It was pretty hard to grasp without such. The highlight was the apartment. I found it really neat. Quite unfortunate not to have many of the handwritten works though.

Lovely museum, very helpful and friendly staff. The literal collection section doesn’t have much original documents though I think, but audio guide definitely helped. The guide talked you through the writer’s entire life, a real essential supplement to the exhibits.

As a huge fan of Dostoevsky, I was so pleased to visit this museum. It’s amazing to walk around the rooms and know that he was there. Even waking down the streets towards his house, you could almost sense his inspiration for some of his books like crime and punishment. You can see some really personally items too, like his daughters toys and hanging photos of his children. Even the desk where he wrote Brothers Karamazov. Would recommend for fans!

I'm a big fan of Dostoevsky so naturally I loved this. The audioguide was worth the money. It added more infornation and was enjoyable to listen to.
