Interesting broad museum on militairy medical aid on the battlefield.
Yesterday I visited the Military Medical Museum of St. Petersburg, I will try to tell you in detail. The general impression is very interesting, I was afraid that the exposition would be more interesting for people associated with medicine, but no, it was definitely interesting and informative, I recommend it for the general public, to whom Anyway, the question is interesting. Of course, Wikipedia says that the exposition by sections is much larger, in fact it occupies one floor at the present time and, apparently, is heavily curtailed, the historical building on Lazaretny Lane is closed, the entrance is on the left. In almost all the rooms, the extremely polite and hospitable caretakers, who helped with advice and information, strained only the first minutes, for some reason the lady was concerned about tickets issued at the museum box office, she detained us for clarification and it was, let's say, strange. The cashier and the controller should still be aware of mutual actions and shift the answer The responsibility for a ticket issued at the box office, for visitors, is at least strange. Tickets are quite democratic, for privileged groups 100 rubles and for the remaining 200, children up to some, I don’t remember what age are free. At the entrance we measured the temperature, masks on us were, gloves were not forced. The hall with the anatomical theater is still there, the dummies of the corpses are covered with cloth and they do not shock the faint of heart, the exhibition of prepared natural exhibits is also quite for everyone, the children can not frighten anyone. The historical part of the exposition is beyond praise, the Pirogov hall is just The halls of the Second World War could have been richer, I think, judging by the article in the Wiki, the material was collected gigantic, but alas, although what is, deserves respect, attention and great interest, the desire to deepen knowledge, interest in history and feat of medicine in those years, all this is present, but still .. there could be more, there should be more, apparently, there is simply no place for wider expositions. I wanted to see another section on concentration camps , but here everything is completely strange, we still did not understand how to get into those rooms, at the checkout they answered us so evasively and incomprehensibly that we had to give up the intention to see this section. People with limited mobility cannot get to the third floor of the ancient building in any way, although, perhaps, somewhere the elevator is hidden, you need to take care of a phone call to the museum in advance. In general, the visit was very informative, we liked almost everything, I recommend it very, very, small children, probably, only the dogs - astronauts in the last a hall dedicated to space exploration, otherwise children under 8 are unlikely to be impressed. Thanks to the staff, thanks to the museum staff, thanks to everyone who created this museum.
He attended the performance, or rather, the play "Anatomical Theater" (held on Wednesdays at 18-00), and seemed to have visited a real theater: Anatom, Inquisitor, Plague Doctor, charming assistant in an old nurse's costume. Just a wonderful action, professional actors tell about the history of the emergence of anatomical theaters in the late Middle Ages, and also show (I will not reveal the intrigue, but it is very interesting). You can also see the exposition of the museum at once, it is also very curious. I recommend! Children over 12 years old are admitted.
The Military Medical Museum is interesting for both children and parents. A must visit if you haven't already. Nice staff. Affordable ticket prices
Was in this museum with a class (grade 3) on an excursion around the Blockade of Leningrad. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The tour consists of several parts. Everything is thought out, adapted to the age of children. Of everything that I have seen on this topic, this was one of the best! Moreover, when moving from building to building, the air raid siren was activated. Then I talked to mummies who were also on excursions - in fact, everyone had goosebumps. So I strongly advise !!!
