Expensive but classy

We had an unforgettable stay over New Year's Eve at the Belmond. The attention to detail when it comes to food, service and the hotel room (small gifts for the kids, chocolate etc.) was incredible. My experience here overall was positive. The service, the food and the grandeur of the building (very elegant building with fabulous interiors and common parts) are its pluses. The rooms are the weak part of the hotel. The rooms are small with outdated bathrooms (I was in an expensive terrace room). Frankly the shower is far from any five star. When they prepare the bed for you they leave the pillows and the bed cover well folded on the floor near the bed which I thought was odd (not in the cupboard where you would expect them). The food was excellent. The service was good too (although a huge line at the check-in should be avoided in a luxury hotel). I think the new owner of Belmond will plan eventually a room refurbishment and that will address the present issues.

Five stars quality for the value paid. Impeccable service right from the door and clean room with ample space and comfort. Will be more than happy to stay here again.

This was a grand well maintained palace hotel. Great location and friendly people/staff. The bar just reopened however is legendary and a must to experience. Food is excellent. The cafe is pleasant and each cappuccino personalized. The caviar bar is awesome and tastefully presented. Also a must for tasting for the expert to the novice.💂‍♂️
