Muzey S. M. Kirova

Interesting museum and very lovely staff. I'm sure the expo part about soviet times would have answered all our questions but regrettably it was only in Russian! Introductions text to each room of the house are translated into other languages so you get a feel of how leaders of the communist party lived.

Amazing Tour. I learnt so much about both pre-revolutionary St Petersburg and that of Soviet times. Communal housing became real, and our guide was BRILLIANT. So knowledgeable. The tour was supposed be in Russian but Ksenia ended up explaining everything to me in English. Absolutely loved it.

Very detailed and interesting exhibition

Lovely museum, it felt like stepping back in time. The apartments give an unique view of how an high Soviet party official lived. The ladies running the place were very helpful and all information is available in English.

Really cool place to visit. There are a few other places that are included in the ticket besides the apartment itself, which were also really interesting. One is about childhood in USSR on the top floor, and the other is next to the apartment and includes various memorabilia of Kirov's (busts, paintings, etc.). All of the staff were really nice, it wasn't crowded at all, and it was really interesting to see how someone I learned about in school lived. All of the posted plaques are in Russian, some are doubled in English, and some have separate translations in English, Italian, and one other language.
