Around the walls of the church were previously scattered old tombstones, including Swedish noble families who lived in Gatchina, Almrut for example. In September 1941, during the defense of Krasnogvardeisk, the headquarters of the militia battalion was located in the church. Due to poor camouflage, the Germans spotted the headquarters and bombed the temple.
