The church was constructed 1745~1748 and consecrated on 30 July 1756 in the presence of Empress Elizabeth. Despite two fires (1820 and 1863) it retained its original appearance until suffering major damage in WWII.

Opened in the spring of 2019, after restoration. Almost three years work was carried out. Beautiful church. Blue and gold creates a strong effect. A lot of work and money invested. I hope that they will continue to work on the reconstruction of the central ceiling and the icons on the walls.

Budzhetnenko restored. Do not compare with how the suite of the palace and other suburban palaces were restored by the previous generation of restorers.

During the occupation, the Nazis destroyed the picturesque decoration of the temple. Still awaiting recovery and not open to the public.
