St. Julian's Church, Pushkin

Church of the Holy Martyr Julian of Tarsus in Tsarskoye Selo. The temple was built in memory of the marriage of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Fedorovna. On June 21, 1894, on the day of the regimental holiday, the consecration of the place reserved for the construction of the temple took place. The construction was completed in 1899. In 1924, the temple was closed and turned into a military warehouse. All church valuables were exported, and the iconostasis was broken. During the Great Patriotic War, the building housed units of the Spanish Blue Division. In subsequent years, the building was used for household needs by an artillery division. In 1987, the church building was taken under state protection as an architectural monument. In 1992, the church was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church, and in 2006, a comprehensive restoration of the church began. Now the church is located in the military unit. In modern times, not a single Orthodox church is known, except for this, consecrated in honor of the martyr Julian of Tarsus.
