Anna Akhmatova Museum at the Fountain House

A magnificent apart-museum of a well known Russian poet. A perfect audio-guide, which make you feel the atmosphere of the XX century and the tragic life of Anna Akhmatova.

Didn’t rent an audio guide, but they have English intro for each and every room. Love the White Hall at the start, it depicts a lively figure of the remarkable poet through her texts, some photos and objects as well. Staff there are really nice, helped me navigate and enjoy the museum much better. Also love the garden.

You should pay with the ticket foe an audioguide. It is really worthwhile. The rooms and objects only come to life if you hear about Akhmatova's dramatic life and the circumstances under which she lived there.

Absolutely horrible evil and rude babushka checking tickets at the flat itself. Soviet style ridiculously rude attitude. The museum itself is wonderful though.
