At the moment (autumn 2020), the museum is closed for restoration, which is unknown when it will begin. For 100 rubles. per person you will be allowed into the territory and, if you're lucky, they will tell the story of the house and its owners.

We are not the first time in this wonderful place. The original, stylish architecture is modern, unusual for Gatchina, attracts attention, makes you remember both the talented architect - the author of the house, and his extraordinary owner - the artist. It is good that the estate was preserved in the complex: you can see not only the house, but also farm buildings, a garden with a well and apple trees. We were very lucky: the current hostess of this place, the director of the museum, L.F. Kulyakhtina, gave us a tour, it was a pleasant conversation at a high professional level, informative and very warm, for which many thanks! Unfortunately, the exposition is now not large, since the house - museum is soon closing for restoration, but it is worthwhile to visit here because the spirit of the place has not been lost, the owners and wonderful guests of this house remember the walls. I would like this feeling not to go away. After the restoration we will definitely come! I would like to wish the house - a museum of successful restoration and further prosperity! And for those who have not yet seen this monument of late Art Nouveau, I want to definitely see it, you will like it!

He lived in the city of Gatchina for 31 years, and only this year decided to visit this museum. This happened due to the fact that the museum offered a kindergarten, in which my children go on a tour.) A short walk through the beautiful streets of the city and you find yourself in front of the building with unusual architecture for the city. Impressive as the gate of the estate, and the museum itself was built in the style of northern modern. The courtyard and outbuildings look neat and tidy, but they clearly need to rethink the concept of the museum. As a parent of two children, I would like to see the parking for bicycles and benches for visitors. The entrance ticket is 140 rubles per adult, children are free! I easily parted with 300 rubles, paying for the tour and did not regret! Employees talked about the life and work of the first Russian cartoonist, his travels and family, as well as about the history of the house itself. I wish the museum a speedy restoration and good luck!

A house in the Northern Art Nouveau style, a very original project even for this style).

The building is unique in appearance, but, unfortunately, the organization of the museum leaves much to be desired. Having entered an hour before closing, we came across two unfriendly employees who said that "access to the museum is limited", there is little time left for inspection (one or two rooms with a dozen "exhibits" ?!), and in general, "better read the brochure ( 1993, by the way, without any mention of the museum's exposition - RM), you may not be interested in yourself. " End of quote. On the whole, the institution easily takes the lead in the competition for the title of the worst museum in the Gatchina region.
