The village of Krasnoe is the once rich estate of the Poltoratsky, close friends of A.S. Pushkin, he often visited here. From the estate, a house, a church, farm buildings, the remains of a landscape park descending to the Kholokholne river have been preserved. The Transfiguration Church, built by the Poltoratsky in his estate in 1790, is an exact copy of the famous church of the Chesme Palace (1777-1780) in St. Petersburg, built by the famous Russian architect Yu. M. Felten near. Another similar building appeared in the estate of A. D. Lansky in the village of Posadnikovo, Pskov province. The creation of three identical structures for one project indicates a high appreciation of the author’s intention by contemporaries. The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is one of the rarest pseudo-Gothic buildings of the XVIII century on Tver land. The building is made of brick with the use of white old stone in the decor, in the plan it is a “four leaf”, the facade of the temple is distinguished by its originality and arbitrary interpretation of Gothic motifs. Above the entrance is a round Gothic Rose window. The building is as if woven from openwork lace, full of sophisticated grace. The unusual color of the Gothic church is made, something between pink, orange and coral, can not leave anyone indifferent.
