The Museum of the fountain business, located in the eastern gallery of the Great Peterhof Palace, opened its doors to visitors on July 12, 2013. His exposition is devoted to fountain art, the history of the creation and development of the water supply system of Peterhof. Here the traditional display of unique exhibits is combined with the use of modern multimedia. On one of the plasma screens alternate images of famous European residences, visiting which Peter I decided to create a grand palace and park ensemble on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. The interactive scheme of the Peterhof water conduit makes it possible to trace all the stages of the development of the fountain system, beginning with the times of Peter I. In the middle of the XIX century, under Emperor Nicholas I, the waterway route is enriched with romantic parks with pavilions that served as a resting place for the imperial family. The museum provides an opportunity to see images of historical buildings that have not survived to our days, fragments of wooden and cast-iron pipes of the 18th century, details of water equipment, fountain nozzles, as well as tools used by fountain masters. The museum introduces unique documents dedicated to the restoration of the fountains of Peterhof after World War II. One of the rarities of the museum is a plaster model of the sculptural group "Samson tearing the lion's mouth", made in 1947 by Vasily Simonov. This sculpture, which became the symbol of Peterhof, bears in itself the patriotic idea of the victory of Russia over the enemy.

The talent of the masters of the fountain business is very impressive in Peterhof. It is very interesting to visit the museum of the fountain business. Opened in 2013. You can learn a lot about the fountain art and the history of the creation and development of the Peterhof water supply system. The Peterhof ensemble is a chronicle of the development of the fountain art in Russia for one and a half centuries. Unique exhibits, modern means of showing on the screens. All stages of development, since the time of Peter I. You can see images of historical buildings that have been destroyed and have not survived to this day. Also, the tools that the masters of the fountain business worked. In the first half of the XVIII century, picturesque water streams, figures and patterns dominate, which are organically connected with sculptors and architectural framing. Further fountains complement the architectural forms that play the main role. In total 187 fountains and 4 cascades were arranged in the park.
