The Hat Bar

This is the place where all the local jazz musicians plus any visiting jazz artists come to jam after their other gigs, starting at 20:00 until approximately 2:00. It’s a “must experience” kind of place in Saint Petersburg. Yes, it gets crowded, but that’s part of the charm. You are suddenly thrust into the whole experience of this city and the warm, interesting, artistic vibrations of the people. The drinks are excellent and strong. Billy Novik (one of the owners) may be there and he is a good fellow to talk with, very kind and intelligent. You would never know that he is the guy who performs in front of 10,000 people sometimes.

Great unique bar! If you love music or especially jazz — this is a must visit place. But be prepared to stand or come a early, this is the gimmick of this place.

Arrogant and blatant staff, poor selection of drinks. Strongly not recommending.
