Saint Nicholas of Bari and Epiphany Naval Cathedral is situated in the Seven Bridges Area of Saint Petersburg, 🇷🇺 Russian Federation 🇷🇺. Typical Russian Baroque. Admission is free but any donation is welcomed and highly appreciated. Entire ensemble is beautiful.

18th century monument of baroque architecture. Active cathedral. They have religious services in the Upper church on Sunday noon. Beautiful choirs.

The best part of the church is outside. Inside it is just an average orthodox church. If you're passionate about orthodox masses and make a donation (100 rubles up to now, cash only) you can get inside and stand nearby the exit. Maybe this happens whenever a mass or any other orthodox rite is celebrated - a priest outside the church will inform you that tourists must pay to get in. Cameras are not allowed, hence you cannot take photos nor videos. If you are planning to visit St. Isaac's Cathedral, chances are you'll see an orthodox mass there too.

The Cathedral looks very good and all and its worth a sight. But as soon as you step your foot inside it as a tourist, you have to "donate" to the church. Otherwise you can't leave... And as a tourist you are not allowed to walk around and see everything from the inside.

I had visited so many churches on this group tour by this point they begin to meld but this was enlivened by beautiful singing and a service. The usual glorious decorative standards.
