Very beautiful but too opulent for my taste. It does have a lot of history and insight into Russian rich families. Opera was interesting.

Phenomenal. Saw the magical private theatre - a definite highlight. When we got home we watched the BBC War and Peace - and there it was. An outstanding St Petersburg must see.

One of the most interesting places in Sankt-Petersburg. Yusupov palace is highly recommended I recommend you to take audio guided, it will tell you much more then a person. Audio guided are available in many languages. Take your time and enjoy. For us it took a bit more then 2 hours to visit it.

The place offers variously themed excursions and one can choose the most interesting one. I had a short overview excursion with a brilliant guide first and on a different day visited Rasputin's murder exposition with movies the latter one a visitor can do with its own pace, there is no guide, the movies tell it all. The mansion is really impressive, rooted so deeply in the Russian history, its decoration is stunning.
