The Meltzer Hotel is unreliable and cost me a lot of time, money and nerves – I recommend to stay away! I booked a one week stay at the Meltzer Hotel for me & my family 7 months in advance as we'd be a group of 10 people. 3 months prior to our arrival I was informed that due to a change in management the prices for the summer have been raised – to almost double than what they were before. I was completely baffled by the attempt to raise the prices of my existing reservation. Over a period of 3 weeks I wrote countless E-Mails and called the hotel several times – every time I was assured the management would get in touch with me, however my booking will have to comply with the new room rates. As no one from the management ever replied to my calls or mails I had no choice but to cancel and look on rather short notice for a new place to stay. Naturally this came quite costly for me.

Extremely small hotel, more like a house. But you'll fall in love with the surroundings. It's very lively, located only 5 mins from Vasileostrovskaya Metro Station with a lot of restaurants around. Quite close to famous tourist attractions like Winter Palace and Nevsky Street. The room is small but beautifully decorated. The staffs speak good English and very friendly too.
