Church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious (Храм Святого Великомученика Георгия Победоносца) the history of our parish dates back to the 19th century and is closely connected with the Community of Sisters of Charity in the name of the Holy Great Martyr George. It was for her on 1874, in the house of the life surgeon P.A. Naranovich at Sampsonievsky Bridge, where the St. George Sisters of Mercy functioned for the first time, in the presence of the imperial family the church was consecrated in honor of St. George, designed by architect D.D. Sokolova. A single-tier iconostasis for the church in 1871 was donated by Grand Duchess Maria Feodorovna to commemorate the birth of Grand Duke George Alexandrovich.

The church is located in the building, which is part of the basement of the hospital on the side of Yesenin Street. Entrance for parishioners - from the street - opens, as a rule, during services.
