The station without track development began operating along with the “southern branch” on July 30, 1929, in 1930 it was opened as a full-fledged station, and a sorting slide was subsequently completed. The branch in the direction of Ligovo was built in 1940-1941. During the Great Patriotic War, the "southern branch" was partially dismantled during the defense of Leningrad, fortifications were arranged in embankments, but the battles did not reach them. The sorting slide of the Predportovaya station was also dismantled, which was then not restored. The slide was located in the area of ​​the modern 7th Preportovoy passage. In 2001-2002 The station underwent a substantial reconstruction as part of the overall modernization of the St. Petersburg railway junction. The station with Predportovaya street is connected by an elevated pedestrian crossing. With the help of the overpass built in 2008, Pedportovaya Street adjoins a complex and massive interchange with Dachniy Prospekt, KAD and the southern end of the WHSD.
