Amber Hotel

Very friendly staff,room was nice, breakfast very Russian and would cook fried eggs omlettes on requesr.Very good value with good bus and metro to the tourist areaa of St Petersburgh.Its about 30 to 40 minutrs walk to the Hermitage but a 5 minute walk to a bus that will take you there for 50p.Metro is also about a 5 minute walk away.Plenty of cafes and bars nearby to eat. Some of which are really cheap if you hapoy to eat Russian food.

We just arrived from this hotel, were with friends from 10/22/20 to 10/26/2020, we had a reservation without cancellation, 100% prepayment. Everything stated by the hotel is true! We had 3 rooms on the 3rd floor, we were the luckiest of all, we were given a 3-bed room instead of a 2-bed room at no extra charge. Friends had small rooms, but everything is there, a hairdryer broke in one of the rooms, they were immediately replaced. We had a shower head leaking .. but not critical, the overhead shower worked properly. Tea, coffee, kettle, soap, gels, shampoos are all in the rooms. Cleaned every day. towels were changed every day .. We are not demanding tourists, perhaps there are not daughters under repair, but it was not important for us. Rooftop breakfasts with insanely beautiful views (despite not quite modern houses around) are the trump card of this hotel! Beauty !! (photo added) The location of the hotel is ideal for viewing the old town .. The location of the hotel was pleasant .. although in the evenings it is quite noisy! Central attractions are within easy reach .. everything is within walking distance! If you don't like to walk .. you will be intimidated by the mountainous terrain! No alarm clocks are needed in the morning, the mosque will wake you up)) On the last day, the pancakes from Gulsu were delicious! Breakfasts are certainly not a huge selection, but they never left hungry, everything is delicious! Special thanks to Murat, this is the second trump card of this hotel! It will help, prompt, fix, replace .. well, if necessary, of course! Prices in cafes + - the same dinner 50-100 liras per person will be released, depending on which alcohol you order. Those who want to save money, tip 1: chickens in front of the hotel, 18 lira, tasty, no harm to health! Baklava is also there! Advice 2: if you go left from the hotel, there are a lot of supermarkets with fixed prices for drinks and dairy products, baklava, souvenirs, vegetables, fruits, which is 2-3 times cheaper than prices in the city center. There is also an exchange office with a pleasant rate, even higher than in the city center. And most importantly, there are NO bugs! well, or we were looking badly)), In general, we are satisfied with the hotel, everything corresponds to the declared! Price = quality !! Recommend!! I didn't have enough indoor disposable slippers, but this is not critical! and the pillows were not comfortable for me .. but also not critical! (with pillows who have what taste)

The hotel is not bad but there are a few comments. The first is the room reservation for some unknown reason was re-planned by the staff and upon check-in the room was not the one that was in the reservation! Further, there are mosquitoes in the room, even when all the windows are closed, mosquitoes simply crawl out of the ventilation a lot, the upper floor, I suppose, contributes, therefore, the whole room is killed and smeared on the walls and ceiling by mosquitoes, a very unpleasant picture. Sleeping with the Raptor when your children are small is not normal. Bathrooms require repair. The shower is in poor condition. The room is air conditioned, but the air conditioner does not work, or rather twists but stupidly, there is no chill from it. In general, the room requires repair, it has already been "seen". I will say about cleaning and cleanliness of bed linen here without any comments, 10 out of 10. Would you recommend for a stopover? Probably Yes, but with the reservations that I described above.
