Derzhavin Institute - Russian Language School

(Italian and Russian below) I first attended the Derzhavin Institute 3 years ago, and this was my first time in Russia as well. Since I'd like to work as an interpreter, it is of the utmost importance to me to learn the language to the best of my possibility. This was an unforgettable experience: experienced teachers for all levels (beginners as well), all employees speak English (but not only) and there are beautiful trips to join (also outside the town). Of course I came back the following year! :) La prima volta che ho frequentato l'istituto Derzhavin è stata 3 anni fa ed è stata anche la mia prima volta in Russia. Poiché vorrei lavorare come interprete, è fondamentale per me la conoscenza della lingua. E' stata un'esperienza indimenticabile: insegnanti preparati per tutti i livelli di lingua (anche principianti), tutto il personale parla inglese (ma non solo) e si organizzano escursioni stupende anche fuori città. Ovviamente sono tornata anche l'anno successivo! :) Я посетила Державинский институт впервые 3 года назад, это было и первый раз в России. Поскольку я хотела бы работать переводчицей, знание русского языка играет важную роль для меня. Это было вполне незабываемый опыт: подготовленные преподаватели для всех уровней языка (также для начинающих), весь персонал говорит по-английский (но не только) и в институте организуется прекрасные экскурсии и вне Петербурга. Конечно я вернулась и в следующий год))

I have taken school groups (From Sevenoaks School, UK) of 20-40 pupils to the Derzhavin annually for 6 years now. I cannot imagine a better language school in St Petersburg. We originally looked at many different options when setting up our trip, and we could not have chosen more wisely. The language teaching is of the very highest standard, with fun lessons in small groups, and the location is wonderful. They can also arrange one-to-one lessons, which are extremely good value. The support with all the other aspects of the trip (host families, lunches, transfers, cultural events, visa support) is just brilliant, which makes my life so much easier as a teacher. We have built up a great bond of trust over 6 years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Many of our pupils love it so much, that they return to the Derzhavin on their own during the holidays, and there is no greater compliment than that! All the staff are incredibly dedicated and helpful. Would give 6 stars if I could...

It was a very good experience I am looking forward to going back to Russia. Amazing team, amazing people, amazing country... I really recommend this school :)

Excellent language school. I studied here for three weeks and made a lot of progress. The teachers were professional, and very experienced with teaching. The coursework was carefully designed, and they placed me in the perfect language class for my level of understanding.
