This small garden is located at the corner of Moskovsky Prospekt and Gleb Uspensky Street, until 1965 - Kolmovskaya, after the name of the house owner, Collegiate Counselor Evgraf Vasilyevich Kolmovsky. The garden was laid out in the 1950s. on the site of the demolished Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Garden area - 0.23 hectares. Located at the corner of Moskovsky prospect and st. Gleb Uspensky. In 1897-1902. on this place the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord was erected behind the Moscow outpost (architect Preobrazhensky Mikhail Timofeevich). In 1932 the temple was closed and soon demolished. Over time, a square appeared here, named Kolmovsky Garden after the name of the street that bounds the square. On March 5, 1871, this street was named Kolmovskaya, after the name of the house owner of the 2nd guild merchant N.T. Kolmovsky (there were variants of Kolmovsky lane, Kholmsky lane) May 15, 1965 renamed to st. Gleb Uspensky, in honor of GI Uspensky - a Russian writer who lived, as it was believed, in the house number 2 on this street. Regional historian AD Erofeev revealed that “in his letters from St. Petersburg, Uspensky named the address: Zabalkansky Prospect, building 105/4. Number 105 according to Zabalkansky used to have the current house 125. But it was built only in 1912, ten years after the death of the writer. And what did the number "4" mean? House 4 on Kolmovskaya is a completely different building, now owned by the plant. The thing is that Ouspensky really lived in house number 105/4, but not along the Zabalkansky, but ... along the Obvodny Canal. In 1876, four tenement houses were built on a huge plot, numbered 105 along Obvodny and 63 along Zabalkansky prospect. The word "corps" did not exist then, and they received numbers with a fraction: from 105/1 to 105/4. Gleb Uspensky lived in the last of these houses. Now it is house number 137 along the Obvodny Canal. Since the same house was located at No. 63/4 along Zabalkansky Avenue, then, apparently, indicating his address, Gleb Ivanovich was mistaken: he took the name of one street, and the house number on another. So it would be more logical to rename in his honor not Kolmovskaya Street, but the Uglovaya Lane passing next to this house ”. In the 1960s. the street is partly included in the territory of the plant. Egorova ("Vagonmash").

Lovely park. I love to walk here. And in the spring, and in the summer, and in the fall. This place has been very cultivated in recent years. Quiet, calm, comfortable. You can take a walk with children. My favorite retreat.

Green island from cars and smok. It is adjacent to the Fairy Tale Theater. Lilac blooms in the garden, spruce trees grow. There are decent benches where you can throw bones and get a little distracted and meditate, listening to the singing and chirping of birds. the bushes are not laid near the benches. 🤗🤗🤗 Decently ennobled and well-maintained green mini-garden, serving as a through passage to the courtyards from the avenue.
