An unusually atmospheric museum. Thanks to the initiative and efforts of caring people, there is now an exposition where you can learn a lot from the life of Dashkova, the Kiryanovo estate and everyday life of the 18-19 centuries. The lectures and events of this museum deserve special attention. It is felt that associates and real enlighteners are working there, thanks to whom the tradition is kept.
A wonderful manor! Even if Dashkova's name does not tell you anything, you will definitely be shown a short film about this amazing woman, the first in world history to take a state post. Interiors and exposure also did not leave us indifferent.
A special thank you very much friendly and educators of the museum!
By the way, the museum is an extension for those who want to fully collect all the "picture"
The museum is located in the former carriage. There is no beauty. Was in the museum when there were children's groups. Noisy. Fotkat nothing.
Architect Quarenghi.
The estate was built in the name of Saints Cyrus and John, because on the day of the memory of these saints (06.28.1762) Catherine II ascended the throne, and received the name "Cyrus and Ioannovo" Gradually the name was transformed into "Kiryanovo".
The country house of Catherine II’s close friend, Catherine Romanovna Dashkova, (Catherine Malaya), as she was called at court, is associated with a legend: on the way along the Peterhof Road, a horse harnessed to Catherine II’s carriage lost a horseshoe. The empress ordered the construction of a country house in the shape of a horseshoe in this place and presented it to her friend Dashkova, who was with her in the carriage at that moment.
Very informative tour. The exposition is small, but the highest.
