Fontan Zhenshchina S Chashey

One of the must-see fountains in Peterhof.

The fountain of the river goddess Nymphs with a sea shell in her hands on the west side of the Grand Palace is an amazing decoration of the Peterhof ensemble. This is a copy of an antique sculpture of the III century BC. On the east side is the second magnificent sculpture of Danaid with a cup. In both places, at the two fountains, A. Stackenschneider set graceful curved marble benches of white Carrara marble with interesting elbows turning into lion paws.
