I am happy that in Sochi I found a house-museum, which I want to return to. He is not in the usual city guides. This is the House-Museum of Yuri Novikov, a wonderful ceramist whose work is highly appreciated. An incredible place where people live, create, meet dear guests. We were lucky we had breakfast with the hostess of the house, a wonderful art critic Natalia Ivanovna Barsukova, who carefully stores and promotes her husband’s work. We were fed by Irina Borisovna Schneider, restaurateur. And of course, our breakfast flowed smoothly into lunch, on a wonderfully served table, among the wonderful works of the Master. What is this house - The Yuri Novikov Museum is a space where there is a ceramics, painting studio and exhibition hall, inseparable from living rooms and the garden. The hostess spoke not only about the stages of the artist’s creativity, but also about the worldview, creative credo, form-creation and the life philosophy of her family. The house museum is private, it was designed and created by the artist’s family to create a space of life and work through its own energy. In plan, the house is somewhat reminiscent of the organic houses of F. L. Wright, formed from two mutually penetrating volumes: the house and the garden in this case. The garden is divided into a part accessible for visiting, decorative all year round, and closed, more intimate and functional (fruit garden and relaxation area by the pool). The concept of a “garden of constant flowering” has been implemented, where decorativeness is the fundamental principle of composition. The spiritual fullness of the house - allows me to say with confidence that this is the place in Sochi that must be in all travel notes of a cultural person.

The Museum of Ceramics of Yuri Mikhailovich Novikov is a unique museum. The most important thing in it is that the heritage of a brilliant artist is preserved with love. The uniqueness of the museum also lies in the fact that the collection of the museum is a triumph of applied art. Once visiting a museum, you fall in love with ceramics forever. The "Life-long stove" is striking in its imagination, and not only by its record height, but also by its painting, which tells about real events in the artist's life. A deep bow to the creators of the museum of cultural heritage!

Workshop and a large number of works. Very interesting for fans of ceramics. More pictures than applied works. Gorgeous tiles! Souvenirs to remember. I offer my condolences to the relatives of the Master.

The workshop and the house-museum of the artist-ceramist Yuri Mikhailovich Novikov recommend visiting all those who will be in Sochi and want to join the world of beauty. In the village of Plastunka there is a house and a workshop where the Master lived, unfortunately, recently departed from us, but his work remains, but a few students still work. You will see a tiled stove, 6 m 2 cm high, entered in the Guinness Book of Records, made by the Master. 617 plots in tiles are never repeated! Majolica in miniatures and large works, if desired, can be purchased for memory.

Mikhalych died ..... It's a pity for a good man .... And his workshop, probably the best in Russia. And he seemed to be one of the few, if not the only person who knew the technology of Dutch tiles. And he had a very good artistic taste.
