In one of the rare dialects of the inhabitants of the coast of Galich Lake, the probable old name of the reservoir - "Nero", has been preserved. Around is the state nature reserve "Galichsky", which includes wetlands near the lake. The relict black alder has been preserved in it, there are more than 180 species of birds, 37 species of mammals and 9 species of amphibians and reptiles.
