Tserkov' Ilii Proroka

The church in the name of the prophet of God Elijah on the high Gorodische hill on the Volga is one of the oldest in Kostroma. A small stone temple is the oldest manor, and later a posad temple of the Kostroma Volga. built 1663 (first mention) boyar G.I. Morozov and his wife, known in Russian history as the noblewoman F.P. Morozova, is a witness to the tragic events of the split of the Russian Orthodox Church in the second half of the XVII century.

Very cozy and beautiful temple, always open! Mothers are good, they will always tell you. Fathers are good, it's nice to talk, they will answer all questions. The rector of the temple is a very sincere, pleasant person. Married and baptized daughter in this temple, we go every Sunday with pleasure!
