The most secluded, quiet and, perhaps, picturesque monastery of Valaam. It is located at a distance from the Main Monastery road, in the forest, more often on the shore of lakes. The history of this monastery began in the 30s of the XIX century, when Father Damaskin, the future hegumen of Valaam, lived on the banks of the Konevsky or Igumen lakes in a solitary cell of a hermit. The fate of the monastery was sad: in the middle of the 20th century its buildings were dismantled to the basement. However, the history of the protected corner did not end there - in 2004 the monastery was rebuilt and consecrated again in the name of the Konev Icon. Near the monastery near the lakes there is a walking excursion route about the island.
