Blagoveshchenskaya Tserkov'

The parish was founded in 1776. In the parish: a part of Odoev. A stone church was built instead of a wooden one in 1776 at the expense of Odoevsky merchants Alexei Ostroukhov and Ivan Bocharov. Three thrones: the main - in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the aisle from the south side - in the name of All Saints, from the north - in honor of the Assumption of the Mother of God. The modern Church of the Annunciation is stone, built on the site of the former, wooden, called the Annunciation Cathedral (this is the third cathedral in Odoev). The antiquity of the existence of the temple dates back to the beginning of the XVII century, in 1629 there was already scribe land with it. According to legend, the former temple was built by the Odoevsky princes and they also called the cathedral. Until 1775, the Annunciation Church was wooden and was located near the hillfort, and from this year, according to the new plan of the city, a stone church was built again, in a new place - a mile to the south of the former place. In 1826, a stone bell tower was built, and two warm aisles were built - on the north side in the name of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on the south side in the name of All Saints. In 1836 the church was surrounded by a stone fence and a stone chapel was built.
