The fraternal cell building is an extended two-story building located along the eastern wall of the fence. A good example of a 17th-century residential monastery building. Restored in the middle of the XX century.

The cell buildings of the Transfiguration Monastery of Yaroslavl were built at different times, but the earliest of the surviving buildings dates from the last. four XVII century. (1670-90-ies.). After the Time of Troubles, the territory of the monastery expanded. New walls and towers were erected. On the spot where the eastern wall was previously located, a cell building was built, in style belonging to the early “Moscow Baroque”. The private body was well thought out for housing. It was equipped with a heating system when the furnaces were fired from the canopy, internal staircases, wall cabinets. Each pair of cells had separate exits. The design of the facade, facing the Transfiguration Cathedral, reflects the internal arrangement of the premises. The different size of the windows emphasizes the various functions of the living quarters and the outer canopy. Previously, each pair of cells had its own porch, and the alternation of these exits created a special architectural rhythm (now the exits are laid).
