In Astrakhan, one of my favorite temples. In fact, it consists of two temples: the upper and lower. The upper one is more monumental, it opens mainly on big holidays. The bottom one works the rest of the time. It is very beautifully decorated, at the services the choir from the conservatory sings. Priests are always open to conversation. The only feature is that there are many children in the services. Get ready for it!

The architectural pearl of the Astrakhan Territory, which still delighted Peter I. The cathedral is two-level, also has a crypt. On the upper level, a large carved iconostasis has been restored. On the lower level there are crayfish with the relics of Astrakhan saints, including the holy martyr Metropolitan Joseph, who was killed by the Razins. On Sundays at 5 p.m. there are prayers to the holy martyr Joseph. The priest is the young priest Father Maxim. The cathedral is richly decorated with brickwork. It has a gulbier - a girdle gallery, through which religious processions pass at the upper and lower levels. In the crypt there are burials in the wall, including two Georgian kings. But you can’t always get into the crypt, but only when the sacrament of gathering by Lent is performed there.
