Start (or end) point of one of the most legendary train journeys in the world: the Transsiberian Express! Since December 3, 1898, the Trans-Siberian Express, then only up to Tomsk, but since October 5, 1916 the full 9289 kilometers to Vladivostok. The most famous train of this timetable is the Rossija; train service no. 1 runs from Vladivostok to Moscow, no. 2 follows the reverse route. A very popular variant of the Transsiberian Express is the Transmongolian Express which travels via Ulan Bator to Beijing (a train ride of "only" 7865 km).

It's a middle size railway station adjoint to the Leningradskiy Railway Station. There's a small shop in front of the platforms, where dried foods, snacks and plastic cutlery are sold.

Plenty of cafes and places to sit, but it is really dirty and crowded. Ticket terminals are located outside for inbound trains, which is awfully inconvenient in winter or whenever it is raining. But at least they are easy to use. Card and cash payment options are available. Tickets can be printed out or recorded onto a transport card. Also remember to keep your ticket until the end of the journey, as you will need it to leave the station.
