Went to see the museum and the employee there told that museum is closed for 4 months. No one is allowed to enter. It would have been better if such important information is mentioned to avoid disappointment. Check before you go as it may not open before Oct or Nov. Thanks.

It is a museum of civilization and history of the Al-Ula region. The museum is located in Al-Ula Governorate, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region in Saudi Arabia. It is affiliated with the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage. The museum was built in (1405 AH) corresponding to 1985 AD on a land area of ​​10380 square meters, and it was opened to receive visitors in (1407 AH) corresponding to 1987 AD. Entrance hall: contains text panels, maps showing the archaeological sites in Al-Ula, an embodiment of one of the façades of Madain Saleh, the network of museums in the Kingdom, and photographs and heritage pieces. Pavilion and tools of pre-Islamic era: starts from the post-stone ages until the pre-Islamic era, in which a set of artifacts and paintings of inscriptions and rock writings are displayed, in addition to texts and pictures that tell about pre-Islamic periods, and the most important archaeological sites, such as: a site Al-Hajar (Madain Saleh) and Al-Khuraibah Al-Ula. The wing of the Islamic period: It talks about the beginning of the migration of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, to Medina and the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, successive Islamic periods in addition to displaying a group of different archaeological pieces, and paintings that include texts, pictures, and plans dating back to this period, And the sites that belong to it in Al-Ula Governorate, such as the archaeological site of the Mabiat. Work is currently under way to prepare studies and scenarios for the museum exhibition to establish a museum of modern international specifications.
