A scientific center works on documenting, studying, and preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and also preparing the necessary research, studies and scientific meetings to serve Mecca and holy sites and Islamic historical places (past, present, and future). An order and directives were issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God preserve him Establishing a center concerned with the history of Makkah and Madinah, and this matter was entrusted to the administration of King Abdulaziz, which is the authority competent to document the history of the Arabian Peninsula in general and the history of the Saudi state in particular. Thirty on Sunday 24 of Safar 1429 AH corresponding to 2 March 2008 AD establishing the Center for the History of Makkah Al-Mukarramah to be based in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. It is supervised by the King Abdulaziz House, whose board of directors is headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God preserve him, after which the activities and tasks of the center were launched through his narration, goals and objectives, as well as through its organization and administrative formation.
