I don't have any information about this place but it is a wonderful
No information about admission for international students. Even the link on the website is broken for more than two weeks. Pathetic. I don't know how come they call it a place of learning, where most of the people are messed up, unorganized and have an arrogance worse than ignorant.
Umm Al-Qura University is a Saudi government university located in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. It was established in 1950 under the name of the College of Sharia in Makkah to become the first university educational institution in the country.
Establishment:
Since the establishment of its first colleges, Umm Al-Qura University has passed through three historical stages:
The first stage (1369-1391
The beginning from which the university was launched dates back to the year 1369 AH, when the College of Sharia was established as the first edifice in higher education with its modern concept in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 1381 AH, it was called the College of Sharia and Education, and in 1382 AH the College of Education was established in Makkah, independent of the College of Sharia.
The second phase (1391-1401 AH)
The stage of joining the College of Sharia and Education to King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah as a part of the university in Makkah, and at the end of this stage the College of Education in Taif was opened, new scientific departments were added and a number of scientific centers were established.
The third stage (Umm Al-Qura University
It is the stage of the university’s establishment in 1401 AH by order of King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, a royal decree was issued that led to the emergence of a number of colleges. The establishment of five colleges: the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, the College of Arabic Language, the College of Applied Sciences, the College of Social Sciences, the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, in addition to the College of Education in Taif, which was inaugurated in 1400 AH, and the establishment of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in 1416 AH in Makkah and the conversion of the Deanship Community service to a college The number of faculties of this university has become twelve, in addition to an institute for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and an institute for Hajj research. Finally, a community college was opened in Al-Baha, and the university offers various types of specializations, and grants bachelor's degrees, higher diplomas, masters and doctorates in Sharia sciences, Arabic language, education, social and applied sciences, medicine and engineering. It includes about thirty thousand students at the university’s headquarters in Makkah, and the number of colleges ’specializations in this university is increasing, thus contributing to meeting the needs of society and the requirements of development plans from students qualified to serve in various fields. The establishment of this university was accompanied by the issuance of the order to proceed with the construction of the new university city buildings, as the Al-Abdiyyah area, southeast of Mecca, overlooking Arafat's level, was chosen as a new site for the university. The foundation stone for this gigantic project was laid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz in 1406 AH. In the year 1414 AH, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies was moved to the new buildings in Al-Abdiyyah, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, the leading college in Sharia sciences and with academic accreditation from the Muslim World League, and the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture. When the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences was established in 1417 AH, it was temporarily attached to the building of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, and then moved to its new building, which the first phase of it was recently completed in record time. The university's headquarters and colleges are currently divided into three locations in Makkah: Al-Aziziyah, and it has public administration buildings, support deanships, some colleges, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, the Community Service College, and the Scientific Research Institute. The second campus in Al-Zahir includes the Deanship of University Studies for Female Students and its colleges' buildings and facilities, in addition to the new city in Al-Abdiyyah
