The General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training is a Saudi institution that provides technical and vocational training programs for males and females according to the demand of the quantitative and qualitative labor market. The beginnings of technical and vocational training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia go back to an early period as it was distributed among three government agencies at that time, so the Ministry of Education had a technical secondary (Industrial, agricultural, and commercial), the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs had vocational training (vocational training centers), and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs had assistants' institutes. Because of the state’s interest in preparing manpower in technical and professional fields, and the increasing need to qualify Saudi youth in technical and industrial fields, it was decided that all areas of technical and vocational training should be under one umbrella, and the Royal Decree No. 30 / M dated 10/8/1400 AH was issued to establish the General Organization for Training Technical and vocational training institutes and vocational training centers under the umbrella of the institution. [3] Accordingly, the Foundation began to carry out its tasks, continuing to develop its programs in line with the country's need, and to develop its human resources to meet the needs of the labor market, and as a result, the urgent need to find highly qualified national cadres who would be able to advance the requirements of the ambitious development plans of the state, and meet For this need, Royal Decree No. 7 / H / 5267, dated 3/7/1403 AH, supporting the decision of the Supreme Committee for Education Policy No. 209 / FG, dated 10/29/1402 AH, was issued, which included the need to pay attention to technical education and at the level of technical colleges, to open other tracks of higher education In a field where the country's need grows and intensifies, and the decision included emphasizing that the responsibility for expanding this pattern is the responsibility of the institution, and this has achieved some positive aspects, including: The non-dominance of the academic curriculum, and thus technical colleges maintain their function and special mission of preparing for the labor market and taking care of its requirements Implement training programs in the institution at three professional levels: vocational and industrial training (second and third levels), and technical training (fourth level), and these levels reflect outputs The institution with a varied qualification, and the specializations at these levels have links between them, which helps a lot in making use of the available capabilities greatly. The relationship between technical colleges and the labor market is not diminishing, and the gap is bridged and scaled between training programs and the nature of the need in the work sector.
