Here is the largest historical fence in the Arabian Peninsula, which is the ancient wall of Tayma, a wall that surrounds the ancient city of Tayma from the western, southern and eastern sides except for the northern side occupied by the salt land known as sabkha. The wall extends more than 10 - 15 km, and it is constructed of stones, milk, and clay, and it is presently high in some parts more than ten meters, and its height in some parts decreases until it reaches approximately one meter. The width of the fence ranges between one and two meters, and its construction dates back to the third millennium BC.
After the occupation of the city in the middle of the sixth century BC, the Babylonian king Nabotide built the wall of the city of Tayma.
The fence is the part that surrounds Tima on its western side, and it starts from the middle of the sabkha and heads west, then it rotates in a circle around the Hamra Palace area, then it goes south and continues until the road is crossed by the road (Tayma - Tabuk Road), and despite its continuation, the part surrounding the village area is known as a wall Al-Samawal, it starts from the intersection of the wall with the Tayma-Tabuk road and continues north until the area of the ancient village ends, where it wraps around it heading to the east and north again, then we find the eastern ring, which turns east and tilts slightly towards the north until it includes the archaeological area of Ain Al-Amim to turn around and head west Even approaching the end of the northern wall (In the middle of sabkha), then it ends or disappears with sabkha. The fence cuts this distance approximately 12 kilometers in length, and the remainder of it in some parts is more than ten meters.
Taima is a summer resort for caravans in the era of Babylonian civilization some 4000 years ago, and one of the kings of Babylon took it as their summer resort, the city was located on the road between the Mesopotamian Valley and Syria, i.e. in the region that witnessed the Assyrian military forces invading Syria, and the conspiracies of the King of Damascus and his allies against the Assyrians, which is A struggle we know from a number of Assyrian texts, and it persisted in one way or another during the era of the modern Babylonian state whose last kings, Nabonahid, was taken from Taima as its headquarters when matters were troubled in Babylon.
