The parish of San Lorenzo dates from the 18th century and is a sample of the colonial architecture that is still preserved in the town. The original building was seriously damaged by the 2001 earthquakes which destroyed most of the municipality's buildings. The roof of the parish had to be rebuilt in its entirety but its facade and walls are the original ones. Inside it exhibits several images of hundreds of years old and rich cultural history. The main entrance leads to the municipal park and a Catholic school. It is undoubtedly a representative building of the history of the city of Toluca. Its festivities are celebrated from August 1 to 10 in honor of San Lorenzo Mártir and during this festivity, on August 6, activities are held in honor of the Divine Savior of the World as they coincide with the capital festivities. During the festivities there are various dances, floats, serenades and in the mornings the traditional cast of chuco and corn.
