Barceló San Salvador

Hard to explain how bad this place has gotten under the Barceló brand. The hotel is certainly dated and it also lacks updates that, beyond the appearance, assures functionality and proper guest experience. Service is beyond poor, specially for a place that is hardly above 25% occupancy rate: there were no towels for the pool under the excuse that they were cleaning them (every time), I had to ask for coffee pods for my room thee times before I got them, I was served a clearly dirty and used spoon during breakfast (picture for reference) and no one did anything else than changing it. Food was comparable to a red roof hotel but with prices that are way above that. Don't waste your money here unless you really have to; and if you do, make sure that you keep your expectations low and your meals elsewhere.

This time the qualification is lower. Unfortunately, the quality has declined, the juices except orange juice in the breakfast are 5% fruit 95% water. The taste really bad. As for the overall experience, it feels a bit low to be honest. My laundry was literally kidnapped because I didn't leave a credit on the check-in, which wasn't proposed in advance, so I have to inconveniently go down to the lobby to recover it. This was my experience this time, I hope when I come back, this improves. By the way, I have the "premium level". The gym times are also confusing and the information given by the staff is not accurate.

Best place in town. You are not too far from anywhere in San Salvador.
